First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study compares new rapid tests that identify which antibiotic will work best for a patient's bloodstream infection against the usual slower methods. The goal is to see if faster results help doctors prescribe the right, targeted antibiotic sooner, improving patient outcomes and reducing unnecessary broad-spectrum antibiotic use. About 400 adults with a confirmed bloodstream infection will take part.
