Family training cuts anxiety, speeds recovery for heart surgery patients
NCT ID NCT07243925
Summary
This study tested whether training family members to help care for patients before and after heart bypass surgery improves recovery. In the trial, 54 patients were randomly assigned to receive either this family support training or standard hospital care alone. The results showed that patients whose families received the training had lower anxiety before surgery, felt more independent afterward, and had better mental resilience during recovery.
