Family heart history linked to hidden artery danger?
NCT ID NCT07172308
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study looked at 480 people with suspected but not yet diagnosed coronary artery disease. Half had a family history of heart disease, half did not. Researchers used a special CT scan to check for high-risk plaque in the heart arteries, even if the arteries weren't severely blocked. The goal was to see if those with a family history had more dangerous plaque, which could help doctors decide who might benefit from early prevention.
