Border families join fitness fight against heart disease
NCT ID NCT06596902
Summary
This study is testing a year-long family fitness program in community centers to see if it can increase physical activity and improve heart health in Latino families living near the U.S.-Mexico border. Researchers will work with 290 parent-child pairs in San Diego and Mexicali, comparing the special program to standard recreation classes. The goal is to find a sustainable way to help prevent obesity and heart disease in these communities.
