Family focus could slash heart risk in ugandan teens

Summary

This study tests whether a family-centered program can help teens (ages 10–19) and their families adopt healthier lifestyles to prevent heart disease. About 1,280 participants from 32 villages in Uganda will take part. The program focuses on diet, exercise, and other heart-healthy behaviors, and measures success using the American Heart Association's 'Life's Simple 7' score.
