Could a Parent's presence calm a Child's surgery recovery?

NCT ID NCT06092671

Summary

This study is testing whether having a parent involved in a child's care before and after surgery can help prevent a scary state of post-anesthesia confusion called emergence delirium. Researchers will compare standard anesthesia care to a special family-centered approach for 444 children aged 2-6 having short surgeries. They hope this simple, non-drug method will lead to a smoother wake-up, less distress, and better overall recovery for kids.
