First seen Apr 16, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study aims to find early markers of moyamoya disease—a rare condition that narrows brain arteries—in family members of affected patients. Researchers will use advanced MRI scans and lab tests on blood, urine, and saliva to spot risk before symptoms appear. About 700 people, including patients, their close relatives, and healthy volunteers, will be followed for 3 years.
