Researchers hunt for better clues to prevent patient falls after joint surgery

NCT ID NCT05879315

Summary

This study aimed to find better ways to predict which patients are most likely to fall after hip or knee replacement surgery. Researchers tested 200 patients with simple balance and movement tasks before their operation. They then compared these test results to the number of falls that actually happened during the patients' hospital stay, to see which tests were the best predictors.
