First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether hearing aids with built-in sensors and artificial intelligence can assess a person's risk of falling and help them hear better in noisy places. Researchers at Stanford University will enroll 350 adults aged 55 and older who already wear hearing aids. Participants will complete balance and hearing tests while wearing the devices, which will also track physical activity and social engagement.
