Can a simple ER alert stop seniors from falling again?
NCT ID NCT05810064
Summary
This study is testing whether a new computer tool in the emergency room can help prevent future falls in older adults. The tool automatically checks if a senior is at high risk for falls and helps doctors refer them to a special fall prevention clinic. Researchers will look at medical records for 30,000 patients to see if this system leads to fewer fall-related injuries in the six months after an ER visit.
