New program aims to stop dangerous falls after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT05642260

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a special fall prevention program to standard physical therapy can reduce the number of falls in older adults recovering from total knee replacement. Researchers will compare two groups over 24 weeks: one receiving standard therapy and one receiving standard therapy plus balance and strength exercises designed to prevent falls. The goal is to see if the combined approach is more effective at improving safety and function after surgery.
