Wearable device could predict fainting episodes

NCT ID NCT07502599

First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study aims to understand how signals from a wearable heart monitor can detect fainting caused by drops in blood pressure or reflex responses. About 40 adults who have been diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension or vasovagal syncope will wear the monitor during clinic visits and daily life. The goal is to link monitor readings with symptom severity, which may help develop early warning systems for fainting.
