Doctors seek clues to predict who recovers leg strength after back surgery

NCT ID NCT07413302

Summary

This study aims to identify factors that influence how well leg muscle strength recovers after a common back surgery called a lumbar microdiscectomy. Researchers will observe 40 patients with leg weakness from a herniated disc to see if factors like the severity and duration of weakness, age, weight, or diabetes affect their recovery. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors better predict patient outcomes, not to test a new treatment.
