Faster bandage removal after face surgery? study tests for better healing

NCT ID NCT07441538

Summary

This study tested whether removing the wound dressing early (about 6 hours after surgery) or keeping it on for about a week leads to better healing and less scarring after facial skin surgery. 144 adults who had surgery for benign facial skin conditions like moles or cysts were randomly assigned to one of these two common care methods. Researchers measured swelling, infection, and scar quality to see which approach worked better.
