Laser plus injection may improve scar healing

NCT ID NCT07472192

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding PDRN injections to standard CO2 laser therapy helps facial scars heal better and look less noticeable. It includes 36 adults with recent scars from cuts or surgery. The goal is to see if the combination is safer and more effective than laser alone.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) injections

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a more effective way to reduce facial scars and speed up healing after injury or surgery.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-phase trial with only 36 people. The added benefit of PDRN may be minimal, and there is a risk of allergic reaction to PDRN.
