Painless device could replace needles for facial paralysis Check-Ups

NCT ID NCT02489162

Summary

This study tested a handheld device called MyotonPRO to see if it could reliably measure stiffness and tone in facial muscles of people with facial paralysis. Researchers compared this quick, painless method to the current standard test (electromyography), which involves needles and is more invasive. The goal was to find a better way to monitor recovery after facial reanimation surgery.
