New procedure aims to rebuild Veterans' faces using their own frozen fat
NCT ID NCT06747715
Summary
This study is testing a two-step approach to repair facial injuries in wounded service members and veterans. First, doctors use the patient's own fresh fat to fill facial defects. Three months later, they use previously harvested and frozen fat for a second treatment without another harvest. The goal is to improve facial appearance while reducing the need for multiple surgeries and donor site discomfort.
