Summary
This trial is testing whether adding an experimental drug called F520 to standard chemotherapy (paclitaxel plus carboplatin) helps people with cancer of unknown primary — a cancer that has spread but whose original site cannot be found. About 402 adults aged 18 to 75 who have not had prior systemic therapy will be randomly assigned to receive either the F520 combination or a placebo with chemotherapy. The study measures how well the tumors shrink, how long people live without the cancer progressing, and overall survival, while also tracking side effects.
