Drugs tested to steady uncontrollable eye tremors

NCT ID NCT02466191

Summary

This study tested whether two existing medications, gabapentin and memantine, could reduce involuntary, shaking eye movements (called pendular nystagmus) in people with a specific brainstem condition. Seven adult patients with oculopalatal tremor participated. Researchers measured changes in the eye movements, vision clarity, and quality of life to see if the drugs provided relief from this disruptive symptom.
