Your eyes could warn doctors of ICU confusion risk
NCT ID NCT05248035
Summary
This study is testing if a quick, automated eye scan can predict which patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) on breathing machines are at high risk for developing delirium, a serious state of confusion. Researchers will measure the pupils of 213 patients to see if specific changes can forecast who will become delirious. The goal is to create a faster, easier tool to help doctors identify at-risk patients early and potentially prevent complications.
