NCT ID NCT07170683

First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study uses a special device called microperimetry to measure how sensitive the central part of the retina (the macula) is to light in people with dry age-related macular degeneration or diabetic retinopathy. Researchers will compare these sensitivity measurements with standard eye scans to see if they can detect early signs of disease before symptoms appear. About 200 participants, including healthy volunteers, will be tested at the start and again at 6 and 12 months. No treatments are given; the goal is to improve future detection and understanding of these common eye conditions.
