Tiny ring aims to stabilize vision after complex eye surgery

NCT ID NCT07126470

Summary

This study is testing whether implanting a small support ring during cataract surgery helps keep the new artificial lens in the correct position for patients who also have retinitis pigmentosa (RP). Each of the 88 participants will have the ring placed in one eye during surgery, while the other eye serves as a comparison. Researchers will then track lens position, vision, and complications over one year to see if the ring provides a benefit.
