New eye injection volume raises safety questions: study investigates pressure spikes

NCT ID NCT06893965

Summary

This study aims to understand the safety of a new, higher-volume eye injection used to treat macular diseases like age-related macular degeneration. Researchers will closely monitor eye pressure in 100 patients immediately after the injection and check for any long-term effects on the optic nerve over one year. The goal is to see if the larger injection volume causes different or more severe pressure changes compared to older, smaller-volume injections.
