Simple sleep aids tested to calm confusion and pain in critically ill children
NCT ID NCT06867523
Summary
This study tested whether using eye masks and earplugs at night could help children in the intensive care unit. Researchers wanted to see if blocking light and noise could prevent delirium (a state of severe confusion) and reduce pain. They compared children who used the masks and plugs for three nights to children who received standard care.
