NCT ID NCT06867523

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tested whether wearing eye masks and earplugs at night for three nights could help prevent delirium and reduce pain in children aged 6-12 in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU). 74 children were randomly assigned to either use the sleep aids or receive standard care. Researchers measured delirium and pain each morning to see if the simple, non-drug approach made a difference.
