Mini organs from patient cells shed light on rare eye defects
NCT ID NCT06408701
First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 29, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study takes skin or blood cells from 20 people with eye malformations and turns them into tiny, lab-grown eye-brain organoids. These mini organs mimic how the eye develops, allowing researchers to study what goes wrong at the molecular level. The goal is to better understand the genetic causes of these conditions and eventually test new treatments.
