Two shots in the eye before cataract surgery: which works better for diabetics?
NCT ID NCT03832179
Summary
This study compared two types of eye injections given one week before cataract surgery to people with diabetic macular edema (swelling in the back of the eye). The goal was to see which injection—a steroid (Ozurdex) or an anti-VEGF drug (like Avastin or Eylea)—was better at preventing the eye swelling from getting worse after surgery. Researchers measured the thickness of the retina and checked vision in 16 participants for three months after their operations.
