Summary

This study tested whether adding a special light treatment to standard medications helps people with serious eye infections see better. It involved 330 adults in India and Brazil who had moderate to severe vision loss from fungal or amoeba infections. Participants were randomly assigned to receive either standard eye drops alone or the same drops plus a treatment where a dye called rose bengal is activated with green light.
