Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety of a new procedure for diabetes. Doctors implant insulin-producing cells into the front chamber of a patient's eye that already has very poor vision. The goal is to see if these cells can survive and function there, potentially helping control blood sugar, while using only anti-rejection eye drops instead of strong pills that affect the whole body.
