New eye drop aims to stop Vision-Threatening scarring after eye surgery

NCT ID NCT06033703

Summary

This study is testing if a daily eye drop called netarsudil can prevent a serious complication called proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR), which is scarring that can cause the retina to detach again after surgery. Researchers will give the drops to 48 patients before and after their retinal detachment repair surgery to see how much of the drug reaches the back of the eye and to check for safety. The main goal is to see if this treatment can help control the disease and reduce the need for repeat surgeries.
