Scientists search eye fluid for clues to stop vision loss
NCT ID NCT07249216
Summary
This study aims to understand why standard eye injections for wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) don't work well for 20-40% of patients. Researchers will collect fluid from inside the eyes of 117 treatment-naive patients to compare those who respond well to treatment with those who don't. By analyzing this fluid, they hope to identify other disease factors and find clues for better, more personalized treatments in the future.
