Scientists grow Mini-Eyes in lab to crack code of rare birth defects

NCT ID NCT06408701

Summary

This study aims to better understand rare eye malformations that occur during early development. Researchers will create 3D 'mini-eye' models in the lab using stem cells donated by 20 patients with these conditions. By studying these models, they hope to learn how these eye defects develop at a cellular level and identify their genetic causes, which could eventually help guide future treatments.
