Summary
This observational study will follow about 1,000 people with type 2 diabetes, aged 35 to 90, for one year. Researchers want to see if changes in the eye's blood vessels and tissues can predict which patients will develop more severe diabetic retinopathy or have heart problems like heart attacks or strokes. The study uses advanced eye imaging and reviews medical records to find these links.
