NCT ID NCT07547527
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will look at what happens when a standalone eye center becomes part of a government hospital in Kalaiya, Nepal. Researchers will track changes in how many patients visit, follow up, and get referrals, and ask patients and staff what they think. The goal is to learn if this integration model can improve access to eye care in low-resource areas.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a model for integrating specialized eye care into public hospitals in low-resource settings, improving access for underserved populations.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage observational study (20 participants) that only measures service use and perceptions, not health outcomes. Results may not apply to other regions or hospitals.
