Doctors study blinking to read unconscious Patients' minds

NCT ID NCT06323031

Summary

This study aims to see if measuring how often and how much patients blink can help doctors better tell the difference between different levels of consciousness after a severe brain injury. Researchers will observe 70 patients with disorders of consciousness in European hospitals, recording their eye movements during rest. The goal is to find a simple, non-invasive way to improve diagnosis and predict which patients might recover more function.
