Could a simple blink reveal hidden consciousness?
NCT ID NCT06464549
Summary
This study is testing whether measuring a person's natural eye blinks can help doctors better assess consciousness and attention in patients with severe brain injuries. Researchers will record the eye movements of 55 participants (35 patients and 20 healthy people) while they listen to sounds. The goal is to see if blink patterns can help distinguish between different levels of consciousness and support more accurate diagnosis and care planning.
