First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether a simple writing exercise can prevent post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in women who had a stressful childbirth. Participants will write about their birth experience for 15 minutes a day for three days, starting shortly after delivery. Researchers will then check their mental health and bonding with their baby two months later. The goal is to find an easy, low-cost way to support new mothers at risk for PTSD.
