Groundbreaking scanner maps healthy bodies to spot cancer better

NCT ID NCT04812080

Summary

This study used a new type of full-body scanner to collect baseline images from healthy adults who identify as racial or ethnic minorities. The goal was to create better reference data so doctors can more accurately tell the difference between a healthy scan and one showing disease, like cancer, in people of similar backgrounds. Participants also provided blood samples to help researchers understand genetic ancestry.
