Spinal stimulation + exoskeleton: a new hope for walking after paralysis?

Summary
This study tests whether adding a mild electrical stimulation to the lower back (called transcutaneous lumbosacral stimulation) during robotic exoskeleton walking helps people with chronic spinal cord injury walk farther and faster than using the exoskeleton alone. The study enrolls 24 adults who have been wheelchair-dependent for at least 6 years and have some leg movement. Participants will train with both methods to see which leads to better walking and balance.
