Scientists probe why exercise often fails for weight loss
NCT ID NCT06923163
Summary
This study aims to understand why exercise alone often doesn't lead to the expected weight loss, a phenomenon called 'energy compensation.' Researchers will enroll 80 sedentary but otherwise healthy adults. Participants will complete a 12-week supervised running program while scientists meticulously track their energy expenditure, food intake, body composition, and metabolism before, during, and after the exercise period to see how the body adapts.
