New study pits exercise against pills for aching backs

NCT ID NCT07353372

Summary

This study aims to see if a 6-week home exercise program, when added to standard pain medication, is better at improving daily function and reducing pain over one year compared to medication alone. It will involve 314 adults aged 60 and older who have had chronic low back pain for at least three months. Researchers will also use advanced MRI analysis and computer models to try to predict who is most likely to benefit from this type of treatment.
