Can strength training slow down hip arthritis?

NCT ID NCT06391554

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a supervised strength training program to a standard patient education course leads to better long-term outcomes for people with hip osteoarthritis. It will enroll 150 adults with hip pain to compare the combined program against education alone. Researchers will also use MRI scans in a smaller group to see if exercise can positively affect the health of the hip joint itself.
