First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a specific type of resistance training (eccentric, or muscle-lengthening exercises) is better than standard training for improving strength and health in obese, inactive women. Twenty-four women aged 25-45 will do 8 weeks of supervised leg exercises. Researchers will measure changes in muscle strength, body fat, blood sugar, and cholesterol to see which training method works best.
