Extra echo images may unmask hidden heart stiffness
NCT ID NCT06927973
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at 30 adults aged 50+ with chest pain or shortness of breath to see if extra images from a stress echocardiogram could help doctors find a hidden condition called heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), or stiff heart. Participants had a standard stress echo plus a risk score calculation. The goal was to see if these extra steps improve diagnosis and reduce the need for more invasive tests like heart catheterization.
