Could exercise boost cancer treatment? study tests new approach

NCT ID NCT06292975

Summary

This study aimed to see if adding a structured exercise program to standard short-course radiotherapy is a practical approach for people with locally advanced rectal cancer. It planned to enroll about 30 patients to complete aerobic and strength training for 7 weeks, surrounding their radiation treatment. The main goal was to check if patients could stick with the program and if it was safe, while also exploring if exercise might improve treatment effectiveness and quality of life.
