Can exercise before transplant help older myeloma patients stay stronger?
NCT ID NCT05642884
Summary
This small pilot study is testing whether an 8-week home exercise program delivered via telehealth is practical and acceptable for older adults with multiple myeloma who are preparing for a stem cell transplant. The goal is to see if this 'prehabilitation' helps patients maintain their physical strength, walking ability, and mobility during and after the demanding transplant process. Researchers will compare the exercise program to a nutrition counseling group to gather initial evidence.
