Can a gentle brain zap stop exercise from hurting fibromyalgia patients?

NCT ID NCT07212829

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at why people with chronic widespread pain (like fibromyalgia) often feel more pain and fatigue after exercise. Researchers want to understand the genetic and brain chemistry behind this. They will test if a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS, given during exercise, can reduce these symptoms. The study involves 60 patients and 60 healthy volunteers, each doing two exercise sessions with either real or fake tDCS.
