First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether adding mindfulness (guided meditation) to a group exercise program during dialysis can improve safety, adherence, and quality of life for people with chronic kidney disease. Thirty participants will be split into two groups: one doing exercise plus mindfulness, the other doing exercise with music. The goal is to see if the combined approach is feasible and helps reduce stress and physical symptoms.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

group exercise program with mindfulness
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, non-drug way to improve physical and mental health for people on dialysis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply widely. The program is short (12 sessions) and may not lead to lasting benefits.
