Scientists test 'Exercise in a Bottle' molecule

NCT ID NCT06743009

Summary

This study investigated whether a molecule called Lac-Phe, which the body produces during exercise, can reduce appetite and lower blood sugar on its own. Researchers gave 23 overweight but otherwise healthy volunteers an infusion of Lac-Phe on one day and a placebo on another, then measured their food intake and blood sugar responses. The goal was to understand if this molecule could be responsible for some of exercise's beneficial effects.
