Can a simple walk help kick the habit? study tests exercise for smoking cessation
NCT ID NCT01915810
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a walking program to standard quit-smoking methods helps African American adults stop smoking. Researchers are comparing three groups: one that starts walking before their quit date, one that starts on their quit date, and one that doesn't walk at all. All participants receive telephone counseling and nicotine patches, and the study aims to see if exercise timing affects quitting success.
